Description
Persephone was beautiful both inside and out, and her sweet nature and pure soul were adored by gods, goddesses and humankind. Associated with flowers, the harvest, fruit, grain and the bounty of nature, Persephone’s story became a way of understanding the changing of the seasons. Trapped in the underworld for six months of the year, because she had been tricked into eating pomegranate seeds, Persephone returned to the surface with the return of the warmer months, only to be forced to venture underground when the seasons changed again.
This perfume was created with Patchouli of the Underworld as a pair. Two perfumers explored the central note of patchouli through their own unique viewpoints whilst using the story of Pluto and Persephone as the inspiration.
Top – Guatemalan cardamom, plum, six pomegranate seeds
Heart – Patchouli, Egyptian jasmine, Bulgarian rose
Base – Honey, sandalwood, cedar, ambergris
